Chef tips
For an extra rich and moist texture, try soaking the dates in boiling water for about ten minutes before chopping; they'll melt beautifully into the sweet batter. For a festive twist, swap the honey for natural date syrup (silan) and serve with unsweetened whipped cream. Kids will love helping scatter the walnut halves on top before baking.
