1In a bowl, mix the flour, yeast, sugar and salt.
2Gradually add the lukewarm water and oil.
3Mix with a fork until the mixture comes together, then knead by hand until the dough is smooth and elastic. If needed, add more flour.
4Divide the dough into two equal parts and shape each into a ball. Sprinkle some flour to prevent sticking.
5Cover the balls with a towel and let them rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
6Shape each ball into an oval about 33 centimeters long, then roll it from the long side.
7Place the shaped loaves on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and press a little on the edges.
8Cover and leave to rise for another 30 minutes.
9Heat the oven to 210 degrees Celsius, and place a small pot of boiling water in the bottom of the oven to create steam.
10Brush the tops of the loaves with a mixture of whipped egg whites and water, then quickly place in the oven.
11Reduce the temperature to 200°C and bake for 15-18 minutes until the bread is golden brown.
